New Book on Geopolitical Analysis by GIGS Director
Dr. Csurgai, Director of GIGS published the book: Geopolitical Analysis: A Multidimensional Approach to Analyze Power Rivalries in International Relations, Aracne Editrice, Rome, 2019.
Contemporary international relations are characterised by an increasing complexity. The difficulty of apprehending the epoch in which we live in is due, among other factors, to the enlarged number of actors, rapid technological advances, geoeconomic rivalries, identity conflicts, and the tensions caused by the contradictory processes of globalisation. As a result of this increased complexity, the capacity to carry out geopolitical analysis to examine the interactions between geographic, demographic, cultural, economic and strategic factors, alongside their relevant impacts on tensions, conflicts, trends and foreign policy decisions, becomes more relevant than ever in a wide variety of professional fields. The author uses an accessible language with the aim of presenting the geopolitical analysis method in a clear and explicit manner so to be accessible to the public at large.
